TWi4200 Features

The TWi4200 delivers reliable ferrule-shielded arc stud welding on 115V single-phase power. Here are the technical points that matter for shop and field use.

Inverter-Based Power

The inverter architecture allows the TWi4200 arc stud welder to run on long extension cords without voltage drop affecting weld quality. Most transformer-based arc stud welding machines require a short cable run from a dedicated circuit. The TWi4200 is not subject to that constraint.

Smooth DC Output

The inverter produces smooth DC output from 14-gauge through 3/8", keeping arc characteristics stable regardless of stud diameter. Inconsistent output is a common problem with older transformer-based stud arc welding equipment. The TWi4200's inverter design eliminates that variable.

Digital Controls with Fine/Coarse Adjustment

Time and current are set via digital controls with a fine/coarse toggle; fine mode adjusts by 10ths, coarse by 100ths. The digital display shows active settings at all times, and all adjustments require the supervisor lock to be off before changes can be made.

Factory Preset Library & Custom Presets

The TWi4200 ships with Tru-Weld factory presets loaded for the full arc stud welding capacity range from 14-gauge to 3/8". Custom presets can be saved and recalled for repeat jobs. When you select a preset, both the time and the current are set at the same time.

Supervisor Lock

The supervisor lock prevents changes to weld time and current once settings are established. In a shop with multiple operators using the same arc stud welding machine, this ensures that the process adheres to the correct parameters for each job without relying on operator discipline.

Dual Weld Counter

The TWi4200 has two counters: a resettable job counter for tracking welds per run or shift, and a non-resettable lifetime unit counter set at the factory. The job counter resets from the menu. The lifetime counter cannot be reset. Both are accessible through the front panel menu without tools.
